A new variant of Mitsubishi's L200 pickup truck with an extended bed and increased power has been introduced in the UK. The most prominent feature of the L200 Long Bed that will run alongside existing L200 Standard Bed variants is of course its longer bed that has been extended by 18cm or 7 inches in overall length, without affecting the passenger cabin space. Furthermore, the Japanese automaker says that the cargo area is also higher and squarer at the rear, increasing carrying volume.
In addition to the extended bed, the new variant of the L200 that is initially available in Double Cab 4Work, 4Life and high-series Warrior and Animal variants, comes with a more potent version of the firm's 2.5-liter turbo diesel engine that produces 176HP, up from 134HP in the L200 Warrior and 166HP in the L200 Animal.
Those that opt for the Long Bed body style will pay a £750 (excluding VAT) premium over the Standard Bed equivalent while customers that choose the Long Bed Warrior derivatives that feature an additional 42HP of power, will pay an extra £250 (excluding VAT).
