If any of you are looking to get a better view at the re-engineered and re-styled under the direction of Kia's chief designer, Peter Schreyer, 2010 Kia Cee'd facelift, then you'll be happy to know that the Korean automaker has released a comprehensive image gallery of the 5-door and station wagon models. On the outside, both variants are identifiable by the restyled front and rear headlights and bumpers as well as the new corporate grille.

Inside, Cee'd buyers will discover a new-style steering wheel and gear lever, all-red dashboard illumination, new centre stack and audio system and dual-zone climate control plus upgraded standard equipment.

Underneath the sheetmetal, Kia's top-selling model in Europe benefits from a retuned suspension setup to improve its ride and handling while various other upgrades that include the introduction of the firm's ISG start and stop technology on both diesel and gasoline engines help cut emissions by around five per cent across the Cee'd line-up.

For the 2010 model year, Kia has also replaced the 2.0-liter diesel engine with a new "U2" 1.6-liter diesel unit matched to a new six-speed manual gearbox.

The updated Cee'd five-door hatchback and station wagon models will arrive at Kia's European dealers in October. It remains to be seen if Kia will also pro...ceed to the unveiling of the facelifted three-door version in Frankfurt
