Yesterday we brought you news about the first episode of the seventh season of BBC’s Top Gear TV series which aired last night featuring the Paramount Group’s Marauder. The South African-built armored vehicle was driven by TG presenter Richard Hammond in its native country.

However, “driven” is an understatement, since Hammond made the Marauder flatten cars, smash through walls and defy lion attacks. He also took a bright red one for a drive around Johannesburg, creating quite a fuss.

In just a few hours from now, Top Gear will air the first episode of season 17 on BBC. During the past two weeks, we got a taste of what Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond have in store for us this year through two teaser clips.

In one of those trailers, we saw a large off-road-like vehicle playing the role of a monster truck on a white Alfa Romeo 156 and an older generation Renault Megane sedan.

It turns out that the vehicle is a mine protected armored truck called Marauder from South African company Paramount Group and the driver behind the steering wheel is Richard Hammond. We were contacted by Paramount Group who told us that the Marauder will be featured in tonight's first episode of Top Gear Season 17.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard that the new season of Top Gear went on air this past weekend. The highlight of the show was when former formula one world champion Michael Schumacher supposedly revealed himself as the man behind "The Stig's" racing helmet, although many suggest -and we tend to agree- that it was merely a publicity stunt. The first episode also includes a first test drive of the Lotus Evora, the Stig races the Ferrari FXX while Clarkson, Hammond and May set to find out what Top Gear may have been like sixty years ago. Watch the video after the jump.

The first episode of the thirteenth season of Top Gear that aired on BBC on Sunday, June 21st, started with a big bang as Jeremy Clarkson unmasked 'The Stig' revealing his true identity in front of a live audience. However, whether the mystery has finally been solved is still up for debate - you can't be certain with these chaps, perhaps it's another prank from Clarkson and his fellow presenters, who cares knows. What's not up for discussion is the marvelous marketing strategy behind Top Gear. But anyway, we not going to spoil the surprise for you - no, it's not Susan Boyle. Hit the jump to find out the identify of 'The Stig' and tell us what you think.

It's been a long break, but the boyz from Top Gear are coming back with the first episode of the thirteenth season scheduled to go on air on Sunday, June 21, 2009. In true Top Gear fashion, the creative folks over from BBC have produced a witty teaser trailer that shows Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May as well as the man we've all come to know as the 'Stig', in their very early years dreaming of what they want to do when they grow up. Watch the trailer after the jump.
